Session 2.4: Connection and Communication

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Recognize different modes and styles of communication. Identify personal communication styles and preferences. Practice using assertive communication.

Session 2.3: Self-Care

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to. Understand what self-care is and isn’t; Learn the origins of the concept of self-care; Share their own wisdom around self-care practices and learn those of others

Session 2.2: I Am Becoming: Goals and Personal Growth

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Understand the importance of personal growth and self-reflection; Identify unique barriers and opportunities to personal growth faced by LGBTQ+ people; Have a clearer understanding of who they are becoming/want to become; Explore how Judaism factors into personal goals/growth 

Session 2.1: Welcome [Back]

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will: Understand what Tzelem is and what to expect from the group. Identify the unique opportunities of an identity-specific group. Get to know their fellow participants. Get excited about the year to come!

Session 1.9: Closing and Reflection

Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Process group termination   Reflect on our year together   Express group appreciation 

Session 1.8: My People/Our People

Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Understand their own identities   Explore how their various identities impact/interact with each other   Learn about LGBTQ + Jewish role models   Explore what representation means to them in their identities 

Session 1.7: Sex, Dating and Intimacy

Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Identify what we look for in romantic partners  Understand boundaries and warning signs of abuse  Understand consent

Session 1.6: Mental Health

Objectives  By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Diminish stigma around discussing mental health; Learn about mental health risk factors and stats for cis and trans teens; Learn about resources to support mental health wellness and crisis intervention; Explore coping mechanisms and internal strengths to cope with mental health issues

Session 1.5: Bodies

Objectives  By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Explore and critique media messages about LGBTQ + bodies (bodies are beautiful)  Understand that there is no “right” way to be in your body  Recognize the importance of taking care of our bodies
